Western Alamance High School is searching for the first head coach in the history of its new girls’ flag football program.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association recently sanctioned girls’ flag football as an official sport, with the first state championship set to be crowned during the upcoming school year.

Western Alamance plans to field a team but must first hire a head coach. Applicants must be high school graduates, possess a valid driver’s license and have knowledge of the sport.

Preferred qualifications include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, at least three years of coaching experience at the middle or high school level and a teaching certification.

Maverick and Goat Radio has announced their 2026 Christmas and Hits Tour...  

Chuck Marsh announced that the radio stations would host the Very Merry Christmas and More tour with Newsong, Micah Tyler, Emerson Day and Cliff Preston.  The event will be part of the radio stations Annual Christmas and Hits Concert Series which they have brought to Alamance County each year since 2019.  This years show will be a special lower price event with tickets only $30 and listeners who want VIP - Early Access (you get to pick the best seats in the house) MUST BRING a new, unwrapped toy that will be given to kids in our community.   The show date is Tuesday, December 1st, 2026 at Lamb's Chapel Church - Airport Campus.

Southeast Alamance Standout Tyler Jackson Commits to UNC Baseball

Tyler Jackson, a rising junior at Southeast Alamance High School, has made his college decision—and it was a natural choice for the two-sport standout.

Jackson has verbally committed to play baseball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where his father, Scott Jackson, serves as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Tar Heels.

His familiarity with the program and its coaching staff gave Jackson confidence that Chapel Hill was the right place to continue his academic and athletic career.

Before trading his Southeast uniform for Carolina blue, Jackson still has two years of high school competition ahead of him. This fall, he will suit up as the quarterback for the Southeast Alamance football team.
